Boston Marathon survivor serves as starter for Baltimore Marathon

BALTIMORE –  Erika Brannock was back at a marathon Saturday, smiling as she held up the tape for the winners. The 29-year-old preschool teacher lost her leg in the Boston Marathon bombings in April. Six months later, she returned to a race course to serve as the honorary starter for the Baltimore Marathon.

Looking for some Monday afternoon motivation? There you go. Think you have it bad? Erika Brannock lost her leg at the Boston Marathon 6th months ago. She didn’t let that stop her from motivating others. This type of story gets me going. As a human, but more importantly as an American. This is the type of person the average American should aspire to be. Cheers to Erika Brannock.
